Small Ensemble - Level 3 - SKU: A0.917411 Composed by Gregory Fritze. Contemporary. Score and parts. 68 pages. Musica Nova USA #6434383. Published by Musica Nova USA (A0.917411). Aliento Fanfare was composed in 2020 in tribute to the hospital workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The word Aliento means breath in Spanish. In many cities and towns around the world at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, hospital workers were cheered every night at 7:00 PM by the people who were locked down in quarantine. At this time especially, hospital workers were called on to help everybody through the pandemic. Aliento Fanfare was premiered by the C.I.M. La Armonica of Buñol, Spain on November 21, 2020 conducted by Jose Tello Espert. It was later arranged for orchestra brass and percussion and a virtual performance was placed on YouTube by players of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Both versions are included in this publication and they may be used interchangeably if desired, to expand the orchestral brass by adding a 4th trumpet and adding a vibraphone.Gregory Fritze is a prize-winning composer and performer. His compositions have been performed more than one thousand times in twenty-six countries. He has written over one-hundred compositions for orchestra, band, chamber ensembles and soloists. He has won over sixty composition awards both nationally and internationally, including First Prize in the TUBA International Etude Composition Competition in 1991 for Twenty Characteristic Etudes to Tuba.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.835452 Composed by Stuart Brown. 20th Century,Contemporary,World. Octavo. 211 pages. Stuart Brown Music #5990681. Published by Stuart Brown Music (A0.835452). A fantastic offer price for the full score and all parts! ... Looking for something to add a sense of oriental exoticism to your amateur orchestral/choral concert? This may be what you're looking for! This charming little suite of six dances lasts about 15½ minutes. It consists of a Pavane, Bourée, Sarabande, Allemande, Basse Danse and Galliard, which vary widely in character. As a whole the suite provides some interesting challenges for both performers and listeners. Apart from conventional strings, flute and harp (which can be either pedal or lever) you will need:- One or maybe two Arabian ouds. The parts are playable also on a fretless acoustic guitar. (Needs to be fretless because of the quarter-tones in some of the Arabic modes used.)- A cimbalom (the part can be played on a piano also, with slight modification). You might get away with using a hammered dulcimer but you'd need to make a number of compromises.- A doumbek and a djembe. These beautiful drums are a must for Middle-Eastern or African music. They're fairly easy to find, though finding somebody who can play them properly may take a bit more doing!- Finger cymbals and a gong. These are regular western instruments.- A wind-chime. Anything that produces a nice shimmering spangle of sound will probably do!- A group of singers (SATB). Nothing particularly challenging but see below. The primary oud part, the strings and the singers need to have sufficiently good intonation to pitch quarter tones. These are the exception rather than the rule, but nevertheless play an important part in the character of the music. Apart from this, the music is relatively straightforward and probably playable by any reasonably competent amateur or high school orchestra. In the spring of 2020 I wrote a set of short music tracks for a charity of which I'm a trustee. In order to protect my intellectual property rights in the music, I decided to bring it together into an attractive if not intellectually challenging little suite, hence An Omani Dance Suite. Originally the dances were all in Arabic quarter-tone temperament, but obviously quarter-tones cannot be played easily (if at all) on the flute, harp and cimbalom. So I have made some adjustments but retained the Arabic temperament wherever reasonably possible. I had thought initially of using a santur instead of a cimbalom, but the santur lacks the range and the dynamic capability to be used with a string chamber orchestra. The cimbalom doesn't need to be a concert grand model; in fact it doesn't even need to have dampers. The Omani was something of an afterthought: a musician friend of mine had worked in Oman and commented on how authentically Omani the Basse Danse sounded. The period of composition coincided with a time when I was really missing friends in Vietnam and Romania, so somehow influences from those countries found their way into the music.I'm not bothering with performing rights for this - just go away and enjoy the music! ... but if it inspires you find out more about the charity work that inspires me, feel free to get in touch!https://www.facebook.com/stuartbrownmusic/

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1121448 By Franco Esteve. By Franco Esteve. Arranged by Franco Esteve. Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Score and parts. 68 pages. Franco Esteve #722619. Published by Franco Esteve (A0.1121448). About Contagion, the music From quarantine life, something painful this way comes, a new, pandemic inspired, life soundtrack… Contagion is a moment, an interruption, signifying an expression of feelings and music that the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic and quarantine brought to light. It’s a contemporary classical life-track, serving as a soundtrack to the contagion, to its spread, to its mystery, its attack on the body, to our losses during the Covid-19 pandemic and to our future beyond them. As the virus flooded every news outlet, Contagion became an interruption, a mysterious invader, taking over everything, needing to be expressed. It’s a “lifetrack†or “life soundtrack†with its contemporary classical orchestral sounds expressing the feelings and experiences of those first few months of dread and quarantine, through which many of us felt the fear of it all and the actual loss of loved ones. Original Album Release date: May 14th, 2020 Genre: Contemporary Classical / Life Soundtrack • The album length is 9 minutes and 33 seconds About the Score This version of the score includes ALL 5 songs in the album and the instrument selection varies in accordance with the specific composition of each of the songs. The instruments used are: Horn Section, Soprano Trumpet, Bass Drum, Piano, Harp, Tuba, Wine Glasses, Cabasa, Triangle, Violins I, Violins II, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Timpani, Crash Cymbals, Cello Section, Trumpet Section, Gong, Cello Solo. I can imagine the songs can work adapted in a number of ways by different groups or a very advanced group of students. It'll be fun to hear how others interpret them. Music included In the package, I've included the full album's music score with each of the individual songs and their instrument parts and the original published songs as a single HQ MP3 (320 kbps), so players can get a feel for my intentions when composing each one. (You can listen to them free at https://francoesteve.com or on your favorite streaming service - links on my website’s album page linked below). The MP3 also includes a cello solo version of Death Is Not the End. Track list 1. Contagion (2:15) 2. The Spread (2:24) 3. Patient Zero (1:26) 4. Infected (1:26) 5. Concert Band - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1002654 Composed by Billy Rose and Fred Fisher. Arranged by Chris Harris. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz,Jewish,Standards. Score and parts. 38 pages. CHRIS HARRIS MUSIC #603763. Published by CHRIS HARRIS MUSIC (A0.1002654). I’D RATHER BE BLUE, THINKING OF YOU (than be happy with somebody else) was originally recorded by pioneering American songstress Fanny Brice in 1929. Since then it was featured in her biography “Funny Girl†when it was sung (and danced on roller-skates!) by Barbra Streisand. This is a FLEXIBLE ORCHESTRATION which implies that it is intended for community bands, bands in small schools, club bands etc. and can be played, not only by full bands or orchestras but by incomplete bands and bands that are made up of almost any mixture of instrument that you can imagine. To achieve this, the music is made up of five “Parts†or voices which are defined by pitch and key e.g. Part II Bb – Trumpet, Clarinet, Tenor saxophone etc. To those five are added additional parts for percussion, tuned percussion, piano and voice. I should mention here that, besides regular band or orchestral instruments, it is possible to include less used instruments such as harmonica, piano-accordion, ukulele, electric guitar – the list is endless! Lastly, it is possible to use flexible orchestrations for chamber groups of any size. They can be chosen by instrument family e.g. Woodwind quintet, or by particular instrument e.g. Clarinet Trio.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - SKU: A0.813843 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Contemporary,Folk,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 32 pages. Regis Bookshar #6537739. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813843). Largo (from Symphony No. 9 in E minor) (From the New World) (Db) (Brass Ensemble) - Intermediate - . This marvelous arrangement of the Largo, based on the second movement of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services, especially Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (24 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 (subtitled From the New World and popularly know as the New World Symphony), was composed by Antonin Dvorak in 1893 while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America from 1892 to 1895. It premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City on December 16, 1893 and has been described as one of the most popular of all symphonies. The second movement of the symphony, upon which this arrangement is based, is marked Largo, and begins with a harmonic progression of chords which is then followed by a solo instrument playing the famous main theme.Dvorak was interested in Native American music and the African-American spirituals he heard in North America. While director of the National Conservatory he encountered an African-American student, Harry T. Burleigh, who sang traditional spirituals to him. Burleigh, later a composer himself, said that Dvorak had absorbed their spirit before writing his own melodies. Dvorak stated:    I am convinced that the future music of this country must be founded on what are called Negro melodies. These can be the foundation of a serious and original school of composition to be developed in the United States. These beautiful and varied themes are the product of the soil. They are folk songs of America and your composers must turn to them.He further explained how Native American music influenced his symphony:  I have not actually used any of these (Native American) melodies. I have simply written original themes embodying the peculiarities of the Indian music, and, using these themes as subjects, have developed them with all the resources of modern rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral colour. In 1893, a newspaper interview quoted Dvorak as saying, I found that the music of the negroes and of the Indians was practically identical, and that the music of the two races bore a remarkable similarity to the music of Scotland. Most historians agree that Dvorak is referring to the pentatonic scale, which is typical of each of these musical traditions.Dvorak was influenced not only by music he heard, but also by what he had seen, in America. He wrote that he would not have composed his American pieces as he had if he had not seen America. It has been said that Dvorak was inspired by the wide open spaces of America, such as the prairies he may have seen on his trip to Iowa in the summer of 1893. Notices about several performances of the symphony include the phrase wide open spaces about what inspired the symphony and/or about the feelings it conveys to listeners. The theme from the Largo was adapted into the spiritual Goin' Home (often mistakenly considered a folk song or traditional spiritual) by Dvorak's pupil, William Arms Fisher, who wrote the lyrics in 1922. Regis Bookshar thought it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, he has created this version for a Brass Ensemble. Regis Bookshar #6537751. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813844). Largo (from Symphony No. 9 in E minor) (From the New World) (Db) (String Orchestra) - Intermediate - . Included are a score and a complete set of parts (23 pages). Regis Bookshar thought it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to this version for a String Quintet, consisting of 3 Violins, 1 Viola and 1 Violoncello, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection which ar.

This marvelous arrangement of the Largo, based on the second movement of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services, especially Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year.
